The New York Daily News was the first tabloid newspaper in the United States and was founded in 1919. Originally owned by the Tribune Company, it is now part of the Tronc family of media companies and is headquartered at 4 New York Plaza in Lower Manhattan. The Daily News is a member of the News Media Alliance and is among the top ten newspapers in the country by total circulation. The paper is known for its sensational coverage of crime, corruption, and violence, lurid photographs, and cartoons.

Using the best journalism in the world, the Daily News is dedicated to delivering the truth and the facts, without fear or favor. They are a voice for the underdog, the disenfranchised and the oppressed. They are a trusted source of information for more than 1.7 million daily readers.

In addition to their print and digital editions, the Daily News also has an app that allows readers to access all of their stories from one location. The app offers a variety of features such as customizable news feeds, downloads for offline reading and the ability to share stories with friends through email. The Daily News app is available for both iOS and Android devices.

A daily newspaper with a history of scandal and lurid headlines, the New York Daily News has been credited with popularizing sensational journalism in the United States. In the past, the paper has been considered a conservative publication but more recently it has shifted to a more moderate-to-liberal bias, especially when contrasted with the right-wing New York Post. The newspaper is often accused of publishing biased and unfounded information about President Donald Trump.

The Daily News is the largest newspaper in New York City, the second-largest in the state of New York and the ninth-largest in the United States. It has long competed with its rival the New York Post for readership in the Greater New York area, and at its peak in the mid-20th century, the Daily News was one of the best-selling papers in the country.

Circulation data through 2014 was sourced from Editor & Publisher and the newspaper industry’s annual audited financial reports, which are available online at the Pew Research Center. Starting in 2015, the Center calculated circulation figures by applying percentage changes to daily U.S. newspaper totals as reported to the News Media Alliance, a division of the Association of American Publishers. Revenue data is based on the Center’s analysis of publicly traded newspaper companies’ financial statements. All estimates are in millions of dollars. This is a work in progress and will be updated as more data becomes available.
